NCO Collections complaint by Madmother
NCO is attempting to collect on my daughter's CC bill which the bank sold to NCO. They call my house several times a day. When my husband finally answered, they told him that there is a lawsuit getting filed in the county that she lives in, and that they have a power of attorney from the bank (MBNA) to sue her. First of all, this is her credit information - why are they disclosing all of this to my husband? He had nothing to do with this account. She's adult age living on her own. The final straw is that everytime NCO calls my house, my daughter's number appears on the caller ID and she says that when they call her, my home number appears on the caller ID. I do believe that's identity theft. It's still on my phone, but how do I prove it?

1. BTW, how much did they actually pay on the dollar? Does anybody know?

2. Can they file a lawsuit on a $2500 debt through the county? Why would they want to? I would think it would cost them more to sue? If I were a lawyer, I wouldn't do it....

3. Why would MBNA give NCO a power of attorney? Or is that a lie...

This company is really BAD! Extremely rude and the lowest of the low. I'm sure they're a cozy place in *** for people who cause others so much grief.... They're harrassing me and my family -- and my daughter doesn't even live with me anymore....
